Made in America Panel Bemoans Obama’s Antipathy for American Business and Black Unemployment

Neal Asbury began his nationally syndicated “Neal Asbury’s Made in America” show on Radio America by expressing his astonishment that France is considering raising its top tax rate to 75 percent.  The result is that French business owners are meeting with their lawyers to find an exit strategy for moving their business to another country that might be more receptive to successful business.

“Does this sound familiar?  A government punishes its job creators with high taxes.  They treat successful citizens with scorn.  They ferment class warfare instead of creating jobs.   This may be taking place in France, but it sounds an awful lot like something that is happening here in America if we don’t change course,” said Neal Asbury.

Joining the show as a return guest was Republican Representative, Blake Farenthold, a lifelong resident of South Texas, who represents Texas’ 27th district.

“France got into its current troubles by advocating a socialist policy that discourages hard work in favor of having people rely on the State for everything.  This is exactly where the U.S. is headed with the President’s policies that demonize success and hard work.  Taxing the rich to death is not a solution to building the economy and creating jobs,” said Farenthold.

Farenthold is tired of watching Obama say the same things over and over again, and repeating factually inaccurate information.  “Even if he raised taxes to 100 percent we still won’t have enough money to reverse our deficits,” suggested Farenthold.

“We can’t settle for mediocrity. This country wasn’t built on handouts.  The answer is not to quit working.  We are at our happiest when we are working because you know you’ve earned your money,” said Farenthold.

Made in America’s next guest was first time guest Dinah Abrahamson, a black, Jewish Republican activist who lives in Crown Heights, New York.  In 2009, she was honored by the Republican National Committee on Women’s Equality Day, as one of 12 American women who made a difference.

“It’s a tragedy the way President Obama has treated the black community, especially since he received such great support from blacks in 2008.  He doesn’t have their back and has done nothing to help the black community with jobs, where black unemployment is more than 15 percent,” said Abrahamson.

Abrahamson noted that Obama doesn’t talk to black communities, and has shown preference to Latinos who take jobs away from blacks.  She is trying to convince blacks not to vote for Obama just because of the color of his skin.

“He has set the black community back 50 years,” said Abrahamson.

Joining the show was first time guest, Ed Klein, author of “The Amateur,” a New York Times bestseller that reveals never-before-published details about the Obama administration’s political inner workings, as well as Barack and Michelle’s personal lives.

“Back when Obama was a teenager in Hawaii, his grandfather took him to visit Frank Marshall Davis, an avowed Marxist, who encouraged the young Barack to learn more about Marxist doctrine.  It influenced his thinking as he aged,” said Klein.

Klein suggested that another great influence was Jeremiah Wright, the pastor of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ, who was Obama’s pastor for some 23 years, building a close personal relationship with the preacher. Wright subscribed to the Black Liberation Theology, based on Marxist doctrine and advocated that the nation was divided into two sectors: the oppressors (whites) and the oppressed (blacks). At the core of this doctrine is that power and money need to be redistributed so that people have equal wealth.  Klein noted that Obama’s recent “you didn’t build that” quip is a reflection of this thinking.

Klein revealed that in conversations with Reverend Wright, Wright told him that when Obama first came to Trinity United, “he was steeped in Islam, not Christianity.”  Wright also told him that Barack and Michelle “weren’t church people.”

“Knowing that the Obamas don’t embrace Judeo-Christian doctrine, which is at the heart of free enterprise, you can see why his religion, and his Marxist upbringing is reflected in his lack of appreciation or support for entrepreneurism and American exceptionalism,” said Klein.

Klein proposed that Obama lost his way at the same time the Democrats lost their way.  They had embraced the far left in the 1960s, but during the Clinton administration there arose the new Democrats, that embraced a more centrist approach.  But during the Bush administration, the centrist majority collapsed, pushing the Democrats back to the left again, thanks to the money and influence of the trade unions.

“Obama no longer reflects the ideology of the Democratic party.  He leads his own party, which has alienated not only Republicans, but many Democrats as well,” concluded Klein.

Once again, Asbury and co-host Dr. Rich Roffman introduced their weekly “Cronyism Report,” an ongoing look at how federal funding payouts are wasting taxpayer dollars.

The discussion began by Neal suggesting that “cronyism is the antithesis of job creation,”

Dr. Roffman revealed the reason that Nevada Senator and Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid is strong arming Nevada Energy (NV Energy) to accept the bid from a Chinese “green energy” company — ENN Mojave Energy LLC — to build a billion-dollar solar energy manufacturing plant in Nevada: Reid’s son, Rory’s law firm, represents the Chinese company. “How’s that for cronyism?” asked Dr. Roffman

In the “here we go again” category, Dr. Roffman reported that the government is allocating $7 billion to the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers for biomass engineering projects.

“Taxpayers have already paid $11 billion for Obama’s green energy program that mostly went to allies of the President. Now another $7 billion is going out the door, most of it, I’m sure, will go to Obama cronies,” noted Dr. Roffman.

Neal attributes the rise in cronyism under Obama to Obama’s days in Chicago where the “Chicago Way” was the accepted way of conducting business. Political donations were rewarded with economic and political favors.

“Cronyism is a cancer eating away at American enterprise” said Neal.

Each week Neal Asbury’s Made in America provides Neal’s insights into the week’s top news stories and their impact on the worlds of entrepreneurship, small business ownership and the overall economy. Neal’s analysis, together with co-host Dr. Richard Roffman, a veteran 30-year publisher with extensive domestic and international experience, takes a non-biased approach based on real life experience in business as an American manufacturer and exporter. Made in America airs nationally each Saturday from 7-8:00 PM on Radio America.
